Our Online Service is Broadcasting!

Temporary Programming

In response to the COVID-19 virus, our Student Ministry is suspending all physical
gatherings through April 9th with the possibility of extending this date.
In place of these meetings, we are hosting:

Weekly Live Stream

Wednesday nights at 6:45p. This gathering will include worship, small group study, and-of course-some fun! We’ll have some creative ways to interact with our viewers online too so you can really be a part of the conversations and fun. You can tune in live on our NextGen Youtube Channel.

Sunday…So What?

Mondays. This video and discussion will be a weekly follow-up focused on working through Sunday’s church-wide message. You can find this on our NextGen Youtube Channel. (You can watch the Sunday Service broadcast here.) This is a great opportunity to interact with your regular small group for some discussion over text or thru Zoom.us. We’ll help you find a group if you don’t already have one!

Bible Reading Plan

Our ministry is participating in a reading plan through the You Version Bible App. You can join that plan here: NESM Motion X. It’s never to late to join! After this plan ends, we’ll begin a new one. (Link coming soon.)

You can access all of these elements and more by following us on Instagram and Facebook or on our
Northeast NextGen YouTube channel (click subscribe while you’re there!)

If you want to sign up for our text reminders, text “@nebcsm” (students) or

What We’re About

HAVE FUN

We laugh because joy is evidence of who we are. This comes from John 10:7-10 and John 15:7-11. We believe you experience the most joy when you know Jesus and we want that to be evident in us. Faith is funnest!

DO IT TOGETHER

We hang out because we’re stronger together. The world wants us to think we’re self-sufficient, but we’re not. We’re built for community and navigating life is easier with people who care about you. Check out Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 and Hebrews 10:24-25 for more.

MAKE IT MATTER

We chase Jesus because it’s the only thing that will count in the end. Matt 16:24-27 teaches us that whoever would save his life for his own purpose will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Christ’s purposes will find it. If we’re not chasing Jesus, we’re wasting our time. Other things are important, but they will never be as important.

SCHOOL YEAR SCHEDULE

ENCOUNTER

When: Sundays | 9:30am – 10:30am | August 25th – May 31st**
Who: 6th – 12th Grades
Where: SMB*
What: Encounter is a worship service geared specifically for students. Through worship, a large group lesson, and a team discussion to follow, we offer students the opportunity to encounter Christ for the very first time and encourage students to grow deeper in their faith. Our goal during these meetings is to confront real life issues students face every day with the truth of Scripture. We see this service as the front door to our student ministry and is the event we encourage students to invite their friends to first at Northeast.
**Does not meet on: April 12th.

ENRICH

When: Wednesdays | 6pm – 8pm | August 28th – May 20th **
Who: 6th – 12th Grades
Where: SMB*
What: Enrich is the student version of LifeGroups at Northeast. This time is aimed at providing accountability, belonging, and care through intentional relationships. Through games, small group conversations, prayer, and study of the Word, we believe the format of Enrich provides our students with the best opportunity to develop a faith that will last and to provide them with a support group of adults that can last long after they finish high school. This is ultimately the place we hope all our students land as they pursue a deeper relationship with Christ.
Dinner will be available for purchase for $2 each week from 5:45p-6:15p.

SUMMER sCHEDULE

EQUIP

When: Sundays | 9:30am – 10:30am | June 7th – August 16th
Who: 6th – 12th Grades
Where: SMB*
What: Equip is made up of a new selection of classes each month. These classes are designed to answer some common questions we hear from students throughout the year in group discussions with the intention of “equipping” them to grow in their own faith and to be ready to help others do the same.

ENGAGE

When: Wednesdays | 6pm – 8pm | June 10th – July 29th
Who: 6th – 12th Grades
Where: SMB* & Various locations
What: Engage events are geared for students to have fun “engaging” in activities both on and off campus on Wednesday nights in the summer. These nights usually include a devotion led by one of our summer interns, followed by a night of fun. Some events are for both middle school and high school, while others will be divided up in some different ways. Engage events are a great way for our group to build community together!

D-Groups

When: Thursdays | 12pm – 2pm | June 4th – July 30th
Who: 6th – 12th Grades
Where: SMB* & Restaurants on FM 3009
What: D-Groups are a chance for students to meet up for lunch once a week during the summer to discuss how to be more active in their faith. This summer, students will meet with a NextGen Intern to be challenged to live out their faith in their day-to day lives and to take another step toward Christ. Groups are divided by girls and guys. Groups meeting at restaurants will meet at the FM 3009 locations. Groups meeting in the SMB will need to bring their own lunch. Groups start at 12:00pm and will end around 2:00pm.

The Orange Philosophy

What do we mean by 'orange?' It's when the influence of the love from the family (red) and the light of the church (yellow) come together to impact the next generation. The NextGen Ministry at Northeast exists to partner with parents in the discipleship of their children. Through the celebration of faith milestones, movement along the Northeast discipleship pathway, and by creating opportunities for family faith experiences, the ministry team at Northeast serves parents and families by being a catalyst for discipleship in the home.
