Who we are
OUR DNA
Our vision is
“TO BRING JESUS TO EVERY HOME IN THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SAN ANTONIO.”
To achieve our vision we are committed to
Our mission of
“MAKING DISCIPLES WHO PURSUE JESUS FULLY AND LOVE OTHERS DEEPLY.”
Looking ahead
WHAT’S HAPPENING AROUND US
incredible growth in the northeast corridor
The San Antonio area has grown and is continuing to grow at an alarming rate. The I-35 corridor has seen tremendous growth over the past several years, with growth rates far outpacing those of other large cities in the U.S.
The Schertz, Cibolo, and Universal City areas alone are expected to attract thousands of new residents in the next few years. The latest data along with the city’s infrastructure planning hint that metropolitan San Antonio and its surrounding areas will increase significantly in size over the next 10 years. However, as the population explodes in the northeast corner of San Antonio, the Church at large isn’t keeping up to accommodate.
NORTHEAST NUMBERS

YET IN SPITE OF THIS GROWTH…
Despite the growth in San Antonio’s northeast corner, the Church at large is facing significant challenges that threaten its future. Only 3 out of every 10 adults in the U.S. regularly attend church services.1 Every year, 3,700 churches close their doors, and church planting has dropped to an all-time low.2 Fewer leaders are entering the ministry, and less than 5% of churches have a disciple-making culture3 that is equipping the next generation to multiply disciples and be a faithful presence in the midst of a watching world. The Church is at a crossroads.
BUT, we believe God is calling us to make a difference.
OUr vision to respond is to
RAISE UP A GENERATION OF LEADERS THAT ARE DEEPLY FORMED AND FAITHFULLY PRESENT IN OUR CITY FOR THE SAKE OF THE GOSPEL IN SAN ANTONIO.
This means being committed to the work of Formation and Faithful Presence:
FORMATION is actively pursuing the maturing of your whole self – heart, mind, soul + strength – into the image of Jesus. (Rom. 8:29; 2 Cor. 3:17-18)
FAITHFUL PRESENCE is living every day, in all of our daily routines, with a missionary mentality: using our workplaces, our classrooms, and our neighborhoods to build relationships of grace that point people to Jesus. (Acts 17:26-27; Titus 3:1-2)
So, OVER THE NEXT 5 YEARS our goal is to
- Multiply disciples
- Equip leaders
- Plant more churches
- Impact our community
- Lead our people to live as a faithful presence
The four pillars
OF THE PLAN
Formation
- Create a clear Discipleship Pathway at Northeast that raises up disciples who are committed to going and making more disciples.
- Develop and release discipleship tools to foster discipleship in adults, children, and families as a whole.
- Increase the capacity of our Life Group ministry by 50% over the next 5 years to welcome more families into spiritual community.
Faithful presence
- Train and equip our church to share the Gospel and serve as a faithful presence in our city.
- Increase the visibility and use of the Faithful Presence Fund.
- Launch a second-language service or translation to further reach our city.
Leadership Development
- Develop a Leadership Pipeline at Northeast to equip leaders to lead within the church and outside of it.
- Launch cohorts to equip people in theology and key ministry skills.
- Begin a residency program that will encourage, train, and equip young leaders for ministry.
Expansion + multiplication
- Plant 3 churches in the next 5 years through our Church Planting Residency.
- Invest in global leadership development and church planting through new global partnerships.
- Increase NextGen capacity by renovating our Elementary and Student Ministry buildings.

“AND JESUS CAME AND SAID TO THEM, ‘ALL AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME. GO THEREFORE AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THAT I HAVE COMMANDED YOU. AND BEHOLD, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, EVEN TO THE END OF THE AGE.'”
(MATT. 28:18-20)
WE DON’T PICK ONE. WE DO ALL OF THESE… TOGETHER!
